Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stood before the United Nations, holding in his hand an application for statehood. World leaders, foreign ministers, and ambassadors arrived an hour early to fill the empty seats in the auditorium. People were standing against the walls and sitting on the stairs. Iran Speeding Up Nuclear Program
Iran is moving full speed ahead with its nuclear program, despite Western economic sanctions aimed at halting Tehran’s atomic progress.
According to diplomatic sources contacted by Reuters, the Islamic Republic is rapidly increasing the number of advanced uranium enrichment centrifuges installed at its Natanz underground plant. Diplomatic sources estimate between 500-600 so-called IR-2m centrifuges and empty centrifuge casings have now been put into place at the Natanz enrichment facility, located in central Iran.
